Meet Tamme!

Each item by Tamme Handmade is lovingly made by textile artist Tamme McClelland whose creative imagination goes into every design. Working from her home studio just outside Philadelphia, Tamme makes one-of-a-kind accessories for women who are as unique as the handbags themselves. With the sensibilities of a professional floral designer, Tamme has a passion for color and is always on the lookout for beautiful and unusual fabrics.
A Tamme Bag is whimsical yet practical and reflects the artist’s passions. Whether it is a messenger bag made of toile inspired by the world of science fiction or a tote bag fashioned from a Jane Austen print as part of her Literary Salon line that may have a vintage copy of “Pride & Prejudice” tucked inside, Tamme’s creations have a certain joie de vivre as well as attention to detail. Tamme also makes accessories such as pillows, headbands, aprons, baby carriers, hip pockets and leg pockets.
As both designer and artist Tamme creates items that go beyond the fashion of the moment and become limited edition pieces of enduring quality and beauty. Her bags have been described as Funky, Fun, and Flirty, Steam Punk, Retro Glam and Geek Chic. You may find Tamme Bags at craft fairs and outdoor markets where Tamme enjoys chatting with customers who visit her booth. Her collection can also be found in independent stores and boutiques:
